Jesse Hatch • Lava Bears Girls 

Water Polo Coach

Jesse Hatch has been playing Water Polo and coaching for over 20 years. Originally a football player, he decided to switch to Water Polo his junior year at Helix High School in San Diego, CA. Jesse later went on to play water polo at UC Irvine in Orange County, CA. Following college, he signed contracts to play water polo in Athens, Greece and Chiavari, Italy. After a brief stint as an Ocean Lifeguard in Newport Beach, Jesse picked up coaching club water polo with Back Bay WPC, focusing on 12U boys and 14U girls teams. During this time, he also coached at the High School level with University HS Girls Water Polo as well as Sage Hill HS Swimming in Irvine, CA. 

Since moving to Oregon in 2020 Jesse has coached with Bend Waves intermittently and Bend Sr. HS Girls Water Polo. This will be Jesse’s third official season as Head Coach for Bend Sr. High School.

Emma Enquist • Lava Bears Boys 

Water Polo Coach

Emma Enquist has been playing Water Polo for eight years and has coached the past four years.   Her  journey started when she was six, swimming for a local club; then she began playing club water polo at the age of 13.  She played Water Polo in Hanford, California and at Ventura College.   Her biggest accomplishment was as a goalie in high school, when she had over 400 saves in two years.  Most of her time is spent in or near a pool. 

Emma has coached several different teams including a 16U and 18U in Hanford, California.  This is her first official season as Head Coach for Bend Sr. High School.

Since moving to Oregon, she's taken up several hobbies, including taking her dog on hikes, kayaking and floating.  



Brandon Betuk • Lava Bears

Water Polo Coach

Brandon Betuk has been swimming and playing Water Polo on and off throughout most of his life. After playing basketball for several years, he switched to Water Polo his freshman year at Royal High School in Simi Valley, CA. At the time, Royal High school had a very successful program and had not lost a league championship in over 10 years. Playing for Royal High School he was able to play in several tournaments including the Hawaiian Invitational, CIF final four playoffs, and play against local masters and community college teams. He played his Junior and Senior High School years at Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, CA. At RBV, Brandon played set defense and lead the team in steals and was named the best defensive player of the team.

Brandon is excited to be part of the Bend Sr. High School Water Polo team and enhance the athletes love of Water Polo.
